The visit by Mean Chey University delegation to Hunan Province, China
H.E. Sam Nga, Rector of Mean Chey University, led the delegation from Banteay Meanchey Province to pay an eight-day research visit on agriculture to Hunan Province, China, starting rom 23rd to 30th May 2014, responding to the invitation by Confucius Institution and Hunan Agricultural Technology Institution. The delegation consists of ten members: 02 from Banteay Meanchey Provincial Office, 04 Mean Chey University, and 04 Provincial Department of Agriculture. The visit focused on rice, vegetable, and fruit plantation and animal raising.
H.E. Rector mentioned that the relationship and this visit take place as a result of the rectangular strategy of the Royal Government of Cambodia wisely led by Samdech Akkak Maha Senapadei Techo Hun Sem and the vision of H.E. General Ke Kimyan, Deputy Prime Minister, in turning from extensive farming of farmers in Banteay Meanchey into a technologically modernized one with development and right product. H.E. Uong Oeurn, former Provincial Governor has built up this friendship with Hunan Province sin 2011 and thus Hunan Province has offered a Model Agricultural Garden in Malai District to be the agricultural laboratory of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and professors and students of Mean Chey University as well as people in the province and also some materials for soil experiment in the Agricultural Lab of Mean Chey University.
H.E. Rector further stated that H.E. Ko Som Saroeurt, Banteay Meanchey Province Governor has also vision in making Banteay Meanchey a province with agricultural prosperity by giving modern agricultural trainings to farmers to increase yields of the agricultural crops and animal product, all of which make a large contribution to promoting living standard and alleviating poverty.
The delegation has visited , studied and absorbed a lot of experience agriculture in cities and autonomy zones of Kunming, Talie, and Liching as well as tightened relationship between the two province.
